The POE1-PLUS is specifically designed and certified to reduce PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic acid, also known as C8) and PFOS (Perfluorooctane sulfonic acid)—two of the most studied chemicals within the broader PFAS family. These substances are highly persistent in the environment and human body, resist natural breakdown, and have been linked to potential health risks, including cancer. The POE1-PLUS has been tested under the NSF/ANSI Standard 53, a rigorous protocol for evaluating chemical reduction in drinking water. However, it is not certified to remove all types of PFAS chemicals. Performance may vary depending on water conditions and the presence of other contaminants.
